EarlyEye is committed to protecting your family's privacy. We collect only what's needed to screen your child's eyes and never sell your data to anyone.
1. Information We Collect
When you use EarlyEye, we collect:
- Phone number — for account verification via OTP
- Child profile data — name, date of birth, gender (entered by you)
- Eye scan photos — captured during the Brückner red reflex screening
- Health tracking data — screen time, outdoor time, eye exercises logged by you
- Prescription data — optical prescriptions you enter manually
- Risk quiz answers — responses to the myopia risk assessment
- Vision test results — results from the at-home vision screening
- Device information — device type, OS version, for app compatibility
2. How We Use Your Data
- To perform eye screening analysis and generate results
- To generate PDF reports you can share with your doctor
- To calculate your child's eye health score
- To track progress over time (screen time, outdoor time, exercises)
- To send you reminders (eye breaks, outdoor goals) if enabled
- To improve screening accuracy (anonymized, aggregated data only)
3. Eye Scan Photos
How we handle your child's eye photos
- Photos are transmitted securely over HTTPS to our servers
- Photos are analyzed for red reflex abnormalities
- Photos are stored on our secure servers for your scan history
- Photos are never shared with third parties
- You can request deletion of all photos at any time
4. Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored on secure servers with encrypted connections (TLS/SSL)
- Passwords and tokens are hashed and never stored in plain text
- Database access is restricted to authorized systems only
- We do not store payment card details — payments are processed by Razorpay
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude — for eye scan analysis (photos sent securely via API)
- Razorpay — for payment processing (we never see your card details)
- Expo Push — for sending notifications to your device
Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data or your child's health data to any third party. Ever.
We may share data only:
- When you explicitly share a PDF report (via WhatsApp, email, etc.)
- In anonymized, aggregated form for research (no personally identifiable information)
- If required by Indian law or court order
7. Children's Privacy
EarlyEye is designed for parents to screen their children's eyes. We take extra care with children's data:
- All child data is linked to the parent's account
- Children cannot create accounts or use the app independently
- Child data is deleted when the parent deletes the child profile
- We comply with applicable Indian data protection laws regarding minors
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — view all data we hold about you and your children
- Export — download your prescription data as CSV
- Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Correct — update any incorrect information
- Opt-out — disable notifications at any time from Settings
9. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active
- Scan photos are retained for your scan history (deletable on request)
- If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
